Movie 9: Episode of Chopper: The Miracle Sakura That Blooms in Winter
When Nami gets sick, the crew has to head to the nearest island to search for a doctor. Zoro's on lookout when they come close to Drum Island, and in this sequence, he's spying the island and passing the good news on.
Yay! More Zoro!
. . . Okay, I've got a little fangirl secret to confess. It's embarressing, but . . . well, here goes. I wanted this set because of the hat. Yep, had to have it because Zoro's in a hat. You should have heard my fangirl squee. It was pretty horrible.
So, my horrendous fangirl display really reminds me of this one Simpsons episode. Lisa is disgusted with the sexist message her talking Malibu Stacey is delivering, and decides to get with the creator of Malibu Stacey and make a new, more feminist doll. Hype for the new doll is huge, and the Malibu Stacey people have to come up with something to compete. The day that Lisa Lionheart is due to be released, they release their newest version of Stacey--with a new hat. So, all the little girls (and Smithers) who had raced over to buy Lisa's doll end up with Stacey instead, even though she still embodies the same sexist principles. Smithers sums it up best, "But she's got a new hat!"
The ironic part is that Zoro's hat never made it into the movie, nor did any of the book elements drawn in this sketch set. Ah, well. Zoro's got a new hat!
